I know a
friend who resigned from a very good job to travel to Kasol. He needed 8 days
off to go on this holiday to kasol and the boss refused. Very furious, he just
wrote a resignation saying, “Job fills your Pocket, Adventure fills

He was not completely wrong in his decision. After
years of city chaos, Traffic lights flashing everyday, Pollution level and the
same office environment, we want to go to a place where not only the body but even
soul relaxes. There is no better place than KASOL..
Kasol is a hill station not clustered with luxury
stays and world cuisine restaurants, but you’ll be surprised with the warm
hospitality of the villagers and locals in the Old and the New Kasol, separated

1. Malana Village
The village is
also often referred to as the ‘little Greece of India.’Malana is a small hamlet in Himachal that has self-isolated itself from the rest of the world. This serene location is a visual treat to eyes of the tourists and is indeed the top location to visit in kasol. Spellbinding terrains and distinct culture of this village are one of its kind and worth a visit.
2. The Grand Indrahar

about 9 Kms long and passes through easy trails that lead to uphill. On
reaching the top, to one’s surprise and delight; you can relax and rejuvenate
in the hot water spring that originates at the top of the hill. A trekking like

hill for a night or so; the nearby hamlets offer several accommodation options.

Special Tip for Kasol Travel

Always carry hard cash with you. Kasol has
only one ATM and it can be unreliable at best.
§
The Parvati river is beautiful but dangerous.
§
Kasol is a smokers paradise. Do not get carried away too much.
§
Carry a torch as the area is remote.
§ Avoid trekking during Monsoon, as it is very
dangerous.
§ Respect
the customs and don’t be too loud.
§ Local
kids will come out and offer you services sometimes. They normally ask for 10
rupee for a shabby stick saying its good for trekking. Don’t break their heart.
They are kids afterall.
§ If
you are on a tight budget you can choose Busses that take you to Bhuntar and
Manikaren for a very small fee. Try them.
§ If
you want to leave for Bhuntar, it is advisable you leave early in the morning
or a little later in the evening to avoid traffic jams.
How to Reach Kasol
A: By Bus/Car
It is
considered as the most adventurous way to reach Kasol. On your way, you get a
chance to please your eyes with the beauty of Indian valleys. The distance
between the Delhi to Kasol is 526 km which can be covered by a Car or Volvo
Buses. If you have no pre-booking for Volvo you can find one on the spot from
the major bus station, ISBT Kashmeri Gate. Himachal Road Transport Corporation
Buses operate from the same.
B: By Flight
Almost
31 Kms away, Bhuntar Airport located near Kullu is the nearest airport to the
Kasol. It is connected to three cities Delhi, Pathankot and Shimla. You can
hire local cabs or private vehicles from there to reach Kasol.
C: By Train
Pathankot
serves as the nearest railhead at a distance of almost 150 Km,
Himsagar Express, Andaman Express, Ten Jammu Express, and Sarvodaya Express are a few trains you can opt for. Chandigarh about 310 Km away is another option you can opt for. Taxis or private vehicles can be hired from here as well to reach Kasol.
