Goa is a paradise full of scenic beaches, Lovely churches,
Warm people and Cold Booze. It's home to over 55 beaches and many among them
are some of the finest and best beaches left in this world. The winding coastal
roads along the west coast of India offer spectacular views and easy access to
the land of sun, sand and best beaches in the world. When in Goa do not miss to
visit these spectacular beaches to the least,
1. Arambol Beach - North
Goa
Arambol beach is favorite among long stayers due to
availably of budget accommodations around. Arambol beach is a long sandy beach,
mostly void of tourists that throng the more popular beaches of Goa. To the
north of arambol is smaller Querim beach and during low tide you can walk
across to it.
Special Note : You can
get a nice rejuvenating Mud Bath near to the beach.
2. Agonda Beach - South Goa
Still comparatively underexploited commercially, Agonda
Beach is one of the most stunning beaches of Goa. It’s nestled between two
hillocks, striking perfect balance between clean white sandy beaches, blue
waters and great dining and accommodation options. There are many beach huts
here providing fabulous views of the entire beach.
Special Note : Less Crowded and very Romantic
3. Betul Beach - South
Goa
Betul Beach is a hidden gem of Goa, Never crowded mainly due to its location. It
is a top choice for honeymooners. It is located near the mouth of Sai River,
draining into Arabian Sea.This small beach has clean white sand and no shacks
or vendors making it a great spot for couples. To get here you should either
enter from Hotel Leela or one of the shacks nearby.
Special Note : You can get into the lane opposite to relish
some amazing sea food. Also you can hire your own boat and go for a romantic
ride.
4. Querim Beach -
North Goa
You can sit and relax under the cool of pine trees and stay
in a 17th century fort turned into a hotel. This is a small
peaceful and serene beach, perfect for someone looking to relax on the beach,
sunbathe or read a book. One can rent a boat here to go on a little excursion
to the Keri Caves or the Turtle Island.
Special Note : It
needs patience to reach here, once you are here you won’t want to go back.
5. Sinquerim Beach –
North Goa
It is also one of the first tourist beaches of north Goa.
Sinquerim beach is on way to Fort Aguada and could be a good option to indulge
in water sports if you are in North Goa.Sinquerim Beach is the best beach in
terms of cleanliness and peace when compared with its neighboring beaches.
Special Note : Do
Visit the nearby Aquada Fort. It is one of the best locations to explore in Goa
6. Cavelossim Beach -
South Goa
Apt for a quite holiday, Cavelossim Beach is lovely long
beach dotted with nice shacks and luxury resorts. Road along the beach offers
many jewelry and souvenir shops. It's probably the only beach to have black
lava rocks and white sand.The beach offers nice views, clean white sand. One of
the best best beach to visit.
Special Note : The
shacks here are greedy and pushy. All thanks to the luxury hotels around.
7. Ashwem Beach -
North Goa
Ashwem beach is a nice getaway for people in North Goa. This
beach was famous for huge number of Turtles coming ashore to lay eggs. Even
though the numbers are on the decline due to pollution you can still witness
some.
Special Note : This
beach is silent as compared to other beaches of North Goa.
8. Small Vagator Beach
– North Goa
Small Vagator beach is the place to go if you are want some
tranquility and a quiet evening by the beach. Accessible by walking down a
steep hill, Small Vagator beach has just about two to three shacks, offers no
water sports and is not much crowded making it perfect for people looking
peace.
Special Note : Watching
sunset from the cliff near the entrance to the beach here, is an amazing
experience.
9. Anjuna Beach – North Goa
Anjina still remains bustling seaside beach and a favorite
among tourists for its flea markets, Shops, watersports, restaurants and beach
parties. It is very famous among Russians and hippies at heart. It also homes
few best night clubs and beach shacks. The most popular Curlies is also in
Anjuna.
Special Note : Best
for clubbing and junk shopping
10. Morjim Beach
- North Goa
If you are looking for some serenity and solitude on a nice
clean beach, Morjim is the beach to head to. Unlike other busy beaches of Goa,
Morjim beach is much quieter and less commercialized. Most of the tourists you
would find here would be foreigners. Morjim beach is a nesting ground for Olive
Ridley turtles which visit during monsoon for breeding on this beach.
Special Note : If
lucky, you can find turtles on this beach
11. Mandrem Beach - North Goa
Mandrem Beach offers white sandy beach, clean waters to swim
and bathe, few shacks and lots of peace. This beach feels like your private
beach. Mandrem beach is a long beach where you can walk or jog barefoot for
miles.
Special Note : You
would find many people indulging in meditation and yoga on the beach.
12. Butterfly Beach - South Goa
Do get some food packed when you here here. There is no easy
access to the beach – you can either take a boat ride, or do 2 hour trek
through the forest or if you are adventurous types - walk in 2-3 feet of water
during low tide. Butterfly beach is a secluded and little explored tiny
semicircular beach cove at the northern end of Palolem beach.
Special Note : You can
do a bit of snorkeling here and spot some marine life.
13. Benaulim Beach - South
Goa
Benaulim Beach is beautiful family friendly beach in south
Goa located just 2 Kms from Colva beach. Water here is calm and clean - very
clean. There are less shacks and if you are here on a monsoon trip, the beach
is deserted. It still is indeed one of the best beach in Goa.
Special Note : Best for family outings
with kids and elders.
14. Colva Beach - South
Goa
Colva is one of the most popular beach in South Goa, and
thereby relatively more crowded compared to other south Goa beaches. Colva
beach offers good amount of water sports. Dolphin sighting tours are also
available here. Colva beach also has a decent night life as compared to
other south Goa beaches.
Special Note : Dolphin tours may not be successful, it depends on your luck.
15. Miramar Beach –
North Goa
Located by the mouth of the Mandovi River meeting Arabian
Sea, Miramar Beach is a good option if you are in Panaji city and not in mood
to travel far. Being located in the middle of Panaji city and the only one, it
is no surprise that Miramar beach is one of the most visited beaches of
Goa.
Special Note : You can hog into
variety of street food including Panipuri if you are missing it.
16. Majorda Beach - South Goa
Calm, secluded, less crowded and a long beach with clean
white sand is how you would describe Majorda Beach. It has few nice shacks
during season time. If its Christmas time, A grand carnival is organized here,
apart from that this is a safe beach to swim and to be with drunk friends too.
Special Note : Visit nearby churches
too. They are amazing here.
17. Palolem Beach - South
Goa
Palolem Beach is Quite at the South. Despite the large
commercialization in recent years - Palolem beach still remains a beautiful
beach. Surrounded by small hills on either side, it forms a natural bay
providing calm, warm sea in which you could walk quite far. The depth of the
sea increases gradually, being shallowest at the northern end of the beach. It
is safe for average swimmers.
Special Note : One can
take boat trips to nearby Butterfly Island or a Dolphin watch tour.
18. Dona Paula Beach –
North Goa
The two most famous rivers of Goa, the Zuari and the Mandovi
meet the Arabian Sea here. Though not a highly recommended beach for its
beauty or anything else, people visit this place for the highly rated myth and
to see the shooting location of film SINGHAM.

19. Galgibaga Beach –
South Goa
Galgibaga Beach is mostly deserted. It is indeed one of the
most offbeat beaches of South Goa. It lies between Agonda and Palolem beaches.
Galgibaga Beach is a good option to unwind in tranquility. The north part of
this beach is dedicated to saving olive turtles since this beach is their favorite
nesting spot.
Special Note : This
beach is completely deserted, carry food and drinks.
20. Siridao Beach –
North Goa
Siridao beach is known for its mysterious caves and rocky
beach. There is Chapel on the beach that adds to the beauty of this beach. An
untouched beach, more popular among locals than tourists and photographers.
Special Note : Go
around sunset for some amazing pictures.
