New INDIAN RAILWAY Rules – Know it before your next Trip

Tourism in India cannot be possible without a train ride. Trains are not only cheaper and reliable mode; it also touches almost all important and less important places of tourism. Lets know some new rules before your next trip,

# 1 : Middle Berth?  - Sleep only between 9pm to 6am

Passengers who are allotted middle berth seats cannot keep the berth up beyond the sleeping hours that is 9 pm to 6 am. If they do so, then you may be fined. Right after 6am, the middle berth should be lowered so that co-passengers can sit comfortably.

# 2 : Side-Upper Berth passenger has to be on his own seat

Upper berth passenger needs to sleep between 9am to 6am. He can’t just chill on the lower seat and disturb the Side lower passenger.

# 3 : Train can be boarded from next – two - stops

Now the TTE isn't allowed to allocate a passenger's seat to others for at least one-hour or until the train passes the next two stops (whichever is earliest). So if you are not getting a reservation from your stop, try booking from the earlier bigger stop. You may be lucky to get it.

# 4 : Feeling Lazy to get down? Extend your journey

Thanks to unavailability of tickets in peak season!, we are compelled to book tickets to a station before our original destination. You can ask your TTE for an extension. He will collect extra fare and give you an extension.

# 5 : Get full refund for short-terminated routes

Many a times, Train journey is short-terminated due to natural calamities or technical problems, if railways doesn't have a backup-arrangement, it will refund you the full fare paid for the booked journey.

# 6 : NO Selling Beyond MRP

Be it any vendor inside the train or at the station. Nobody can sell packaged food items, beverages, or water bottle above the MRP. If you find anyone doing so, immediately register the complaint at railways toll-free numbers 139 or 1800111321. The vendor would be charged a hefty plenty and his license may get canceled.

# 7 : TTE cannot disturb you after 10 pm

Verification of tickets must be completed before 10pm. TTE cannot disturb you post that.

# 8 : Dirty washroom – Instant solution

You can complain about untidy washrooms/coaches on Cleanmycoach.com. The maintenance team will be ready at the next station to serve you.
