NO ENTRY to GOA – Without 15 Promises!
Whenever we look forward to a
fun-filled and chilled out beach vacation in India, the most common name that
springs to mind is Goa. It is the place where party never ends and the sun
never sets on fun. But we have also not failed to embarrass ourselves in front
of foreigners and locals. Lets promise ourselves to NOT DO ALL THESE THINGS IN
GOA.
1. I Promise, I
won’t wear High Heels on Beach
Ramp walk is pretty different scene than beach walk. Leaving
those heels behind at the hotel would be the best idea when you’re at the
beach. Trust me!.
2. I promise, I Won’t wear Chuda with SwimSuit
We respect rituals. But it looks very odd when you are wearing ultra modern Goa type swimwear and also traditional chuda. Swimwear are designed to be comfortable and safe while you swim. Chuda kind-of defeats the purpose.
3. I Promise, I won’t wear Lungi on Beach
Don’t let you be embarrassed when waves take away your lungi
or saree. And comeon, you are not going a ritual in Puri - Orissa, you are in
GOA. Get a swimsuit or a beachwear – there is a reason this was designed .
4. I Promise, I
Won’t drool foreigners
No ogling at foreigners, or even our Indian girls, it’s just
beachwear. Oh and by the way those dark glasses don’t hide your drooling
expressions. So, don’t embarrass yourself!
5. I Promise, I
Won’t Drink & Drive
Cheap Booze!. That doesn’t mean I have got the right to
drive drunk in the small lanes of Goa. Do you realize how many accidents take
place due to drinking and driving? so no drinking and driving!
6. I promise, I Won’t Flaunt Rupa Frontine
Nobody is interested in whatever your brand
is, Don’t flaunt your underwear. It is not a good sight to see boys walking around the see with Rupa Underwear and Baniyan. Get a beachwear.
7. I Promise, I Won’t get wasted and sleep on
Beach
Unless you want to wake up with snappers and crabs hanging
on your… you-know-what and everywhere else, DO NOT SLEEP ON THE BEACH! No
matter how romantic it feels at night, mornings would be pretty terrible.
8. I Promise, I Won’t do Public display of Love
Yes, Goa is pretty cool and liberal, but no one wants to see you eat each other’s
face in public. No Public display please. Get a room. They are very cheap here.
Be a little considerate towards the recently heartbroken ones, atleast.
9. I promise, I
will discover new places.
Goa doesn’t start at Calangute & end at Baga – there are
tons of other beaches to explore. Also, quit ranting about Tito’s and Mambos.
Go and explore more!
10.
I promise, I will not cringe drinking Fenny
Fenny is not as sweet as honey! It is in fact quite pungent
and there are high chances that you may not like it. Yet it’s a very popular
local liquor that many enjoy. So, know it before you take a sip! Don’t say it
is bad.
11. I promise, I
Won’t expect 5 star treatment at a shack!
If you want luxury treatment, please find yourself a a 3 – 5
star hotel! Give those poor guys at shack a break- they’re already way too high
from the previous night to know any difference between hot and cold water. Also
give them enough time to get back.
12. I promise, I
Won’t buy Hawaiian shirts in Goa
That’s just tacky, man! Those flowery shirts belong in
Hawaii not Goa, so please stop flaunting them. There are several other options
too. Don’t stick to it dude.
13. I promise, I Won’t Try finding single girls in Goa
Its just not done!. Girls come here to spend
nice time too. Stop staring them with an imaginary board that reads ‘Do
frandship baby?’ we are not interested in random people you see.
14. I promise, I Won’t Do Drugs
Yes Goa is liberal and people are friendly. We
don’t do that much drugs though. So stop asking every shop keeper “Maal milega
kya”. You could land in mess.
15. I promise, I Won’t Defame South Goa
It is indeed beautiful too. And how can
you say it is worst when you haven’t been there. People find it romantic,
beautiful, peaceful and worthy. It depends on your personal choice. Saying
“south ghatia hai” shows your immaturity.
So friends I have promised myself I wont
do all these things in Goa. Forward this into your groups and help us refine
the society further.
Goa Rocks!, So do you!
