Brag about your vacation without Irritating people – Know how?
Social media is a fickle beast. Our social media friends too
change their colors. We want to impress them all. We notice them all view our
pictures but do not hit LIKE. Still we want to brag n brag, afterall we have
just taken an amazing trip so why not. It's tough to draw the line between
over-sharing, bragging, and boring, and nowhere is this line more blurred than
when traveling.
Here is a way to humble-brag efficiently? We've found a
few dos and don'ts so that you can brag about your vacation without irritating or
alienating everyone.
1. Don't post hotel room photos
that add no value
Posting pictures of your hotel room the second you checked in just
to show people that you're on vacation is a NO-NO. Wait until you can get some
poolside pics.
2. Do post pics that make
people want to go there
Posting incredible images of
stunning views and landscapes that make people want to pack their bags and join
you are not just acceptable, but encouraged. It's hard not to like a beautiful
sunset, no matter how jealous it makes you.
3. Don't post too many pictures
No one wants to see 34 pictures of the same hike or every single
meal you've eaten in the last five days. Restrict yourself to post few pictures
that describe best of your vacation.
4. Don't post pictures of food
It is even if sanjeev kapoor
has made your meal, unless you're a professional food photographer, pictures of
food will 99% of the time look crappy, under lit, and unappetizing. Restrict yourself
5. Don't make it about yourself
No one wants to hear how you
got stopped by cow and how you managed to get it fixed. Stop posting these
events.
6. Do make it about the people
and the place
Instead, people want to hear
about the locals and the culture that where with. This makes you unique.
7. Don't post inspirational
quotes
Please, for the love of god,
don't spew quotes you found online or on you’re the samshaan wall or outside
on the church wisdom board. Inspirational quotes are a worse cliché than a
photo of you pinching the top of the Taj Mahal, and guaranteed to irritate all
of your followers. Just Don’t.
8. Don't list your experiences
like you're going through a checklist
Remind yourself whether you're
doing something for the experience of it, or for its Instagrammability. There's
nothing worse than rattling down activities and sounding like a brochure for
your destination. Don’t Don’t.
9. Don't check into every
single place every single time
No one wants to know every time you return to your hotel. Plus, if
you're constantly updating your social media accounts, you're obviously not
living in the moment or properly enjoying your trip, and quite possibly just
straight up showing off. Don't do that please.
Just take care of the above points and become a social media star
among friends. On each travel, make them
love you more!
