Ramayana Trail - IRCTC launches Sri Ramayan Express! Yes, You’ll Also Be Exploring Sri Lanka
Sri Ramayana Express, as the route is called, is expected to get on the track FROM
14th November 2018. Taking yet another step to flaunt the beauty of Indian
culture, IRCTC is introducing a new route following different locations
mentioned in Ramayana, the Great Hindu Epic.
The
route will start from Safdarjung Railway Station, continuing towards Ayodhya in
Uttar Pradesh and Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu; and will be
concluded in Sri Lanka’s Colombo. Covering this whole distance will
take 16 days. Food will be provided onboard and stay will also be in
dharamshalas. Speaking of the cost, it would be INR 15,120 per person.
Other
than the mentioned stoppages, the train will stop at Nandigram, Sitamarhi,
Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayag, Shringverpur, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi, and
Rameshwaram. The prime attractions of each destination will be reached via road
from the station, the same will be facilitated by IRCTC.
To
travel to Colombo, passengers will board a train to Chennai and will further
fly to Colombo to continue their pilgrimage journey. While in Sri Lanka, the
passengers will also cover Ramboda, Nuwara Eliya, and Chilaw. Speaking of the
frequency of trains, the same will be analyzed based on the response and will
be increased accordingly. So, Get ready for Ramayan Yatra,
