South GOA Best Beaches - Soft breeze, Soft waves & Soft Music

If you ask me, South Goa is magnificent. It is when you come here once, you realize what was missing in your life. Here you see the real part of Goa, here you listen to the waves in silence, Here you feel the depth of nature that is just right. Here you have the winds that hold you tight. Here you see the perfect color of twilight.

1. Agonda Beach -  South Goa

Still comparatively underexploited commercially, Agonda Beach is one of the most stunning beaches of Goa. It’s nestled between two hillocks, striking perfect balance between clean white sandy beaches, blue waters and great dining and accommodation options. There are many beach huts here providing fabulous views of the entire beach.
Special Note :  Less Crowded and very Romantic

2. Betul Beach - South Goa

Betul Beach is a hidden gem of Goa,  Never crowded mainly due to its location. It is a top choice for honeymooners. It is located near the mouth of Sai River, draining into Arabian Sea.This small beach has clean white sand and no shacks or vendors making it a great spot for couples. To get here you should either enter from Hotel Leela or one of the shacks nearby.
Special Note :  You can get into the lane opposite to relish some amazing sea food. Also you can hire your own boat and go for a romantic ride.

3. Butterfly Beach -  South Goa

Do get some food packed when you here here. There is no easy access to the beach – you can either take a boat ride, or do 2 hour trek through the forest or if you are adventurous types - walk in 2-3 feet of water during low tide. Butterfly beach is a secluded and little explored tiny semicircular beach cove at the northern end of Palolem beach.
Special Note : You can do a bit of snorkeling here and spot some marine life.

4. Benaulim Beach - South Goa

Benaulim Beach is beautiful family friendly beach in south Goa located just 2 Kms from Colva beach. Water here is calm and clean - very clean. There are less shacks and if you are here on a monsoon trip, the beach is deserted. It still is indeed one of the best beach in Goa.

Special Note : Best for family outings with kids and elders.

5. Cavelossim Beach - South Goa

Apt for a quite holiday, Cavelossim Beach is lovely long beach dotted with nice shacks and luxury resorts. Road along the beach offers many jewelry and souvenir shops. It's probably the only beach to have black lava rocks and white sand. The beach offers nice views, clean white sand. One of the best best beach to visit.
Special Note : The shacks here are greedy and pushy. All thanks to the luxury hotels around.

6. Colva Beach - South Goa

Colva is one of the most popular beach in South Goa, and thereby relatively more crowded compared to other south Goa beaches. Colva beach offers good amount of water sports. Dolphin sighting tours are also available here. Colva beach also has a decent night life as compared to other south Goa beaches.

Special Note : Dolphin tours may not be successful, it depends on your luck.

7. Majorda Beach -  South Goa

Calm, secluded, less crowded and a long beach with clean white sand is how you would describe Majorda Beach. It has few nice shacks during season time. If its Christmas time, A grand carnival is organized here, apart from that this is a safe beach to swim and to be with drunk friends too.

Special Note : Visit nearby churches too. They are amazing here.

8. Palolem Beach - South Goa

Palalem Beach is Quite at the South. Despite the large commercialization in recent years - Palolem beach still remains a beautiful beach. Surrounded by small hills on either side, it forms a natural bay providing calm, warm sea in which you could walk quite far. The depth of the sea increases gradually, being shallowest at the northern end of the beach. It is safe for average swimmers.
Special Note : One can take boat trips to nearby Butterfly Island or a Dolphin watch tour.

9. Galgibaga Beach – South Goa

Galgibaga Beach is mostly deserted. It is indeed one of the most offbeat beaches of South Goa. It lies between Agonda and Palolem beaches. Galgibaga Beach is a good option to unwind in tranquility. The north part of this beach is dedicated to saving olive turtles since this beach is their favorite nesting spot.
Special Note : This beach is completely deserted, carry food and drinks.

The beaches in South Goa are known to be silent, less crowded and serene. Tourist who are in search of silent beaches head to south Goa. But please note – South Goa gets deserted in Monsoon. Incase, you feel isolated drive an hour and half and reach north.

“At a south Goa beach, life is different.
Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment.

We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun.”
