Tricks for booking tourist Attractions & Planning travel days
As much as I love spontaneously wandering through cities with no plan in
mind, I also enjoy visiting top tourist sites. First I used to believe
that this is strange way of travel but then while I met people on each trip I
realized that mostly everyone desired to have a similar trip plan.
Here are my top tips to keep in mind
when booking tourist sites for your next trip.
1.
Use TripAdvisor
/ Reputed travel sites to read other’s reviews
Review of top
sites makes sure it’s something you really want to do. Honest reviews =
priceless!
2. Don’t overbook yourself.
Sites
(especially information-heavy places like museums) are more enjoyable when
you’re not flying through them. Also, you need time to break, eat, and enjoy
the scenery in between.
3.
Consult a detailed guidebook.
Detailed as in,
one that actually devotes a section/page to the specific site you’re
considering. Travel guidebooks often contain little known tricks + hacks to
help you figure out the best time to visit sites to minimize crowds, or even secrets
on how to skip lines.
4.
See what bloggers
have to say.
Ever wish you had
a trustworthy globetrotting friend to tell you how you should actually spend
your time to get the most for your spend? Peruse popular travel blogs –
especially those focused on the places you’re going – for the best
down-to-earth insider tips.
5.
When planning,
think balance.
Super active hike
in the morning? Pick a relaxing dinner rather than an immediate museum trek
that evening. You’ll feel more rested, and more fulfilled, if you balance
tourist activities and sites to complement one another. Instead of marching
though museum after museum after museum, consider a show or a walking tour of
the city.
6. Buy tickets in advance.
Often, having a
print-out ticket with you allows you to skip either all, or the majority, of
the lines to tourist destinations. Check the site’s website to see if you can
take advantage of this and buy it online.
7.
Keep at least one
day in each city with nothing planned.
That’s
right. Nothing. Often something comes up that you need to do
(shopping, laundry, meeting friend ets). And having time to simply wander your
location is an absolute must.
If you follow not all but some of
these tricks, you will be a satisfied and active traveler who will always be
away from hassle and chaos of contemporary travel. a little advance planning
can save you major time and resources.
Plan well, Travel More!
