Things you must not Pack on your next Trip

You can’t ever say that you have mastered in Travel. It is an art and not a science. Moreover traveling is a constant learning experience. And with more travel experience comes more packing experience. After traveling three weeks through Thailand with only my carry on suitcase (I’ve never thought that this would be possible!), I am quite proud to say that I have learnt further the art of downsizing. So, here are the six things that you should leave at home. Never pack these,

1. Books
Welcome to the digital age!. Although I love holding an actual book in my hands, when it comes to traveling there is no better way to read than the digital way. Download a few ebooks or some of your favorite online magazine and have guidebooks saved on your iPad. It will keep your baggage weight down and you’ll be good to go for your long-haul flight.

2. Precious Jewelry
Never, ever take irreplaceable jewelry with you on a journey! However, exceptions like special occasions exist. You don’t want to explain to your grandma how you lost her precious ring while road tripping through Malaysia or while snorkeling in the Coral island, right? Better safe, than sorry!

3. Towels
Nowadays, accommodations always provide towels. When you’re thinking about packing a beach towel, then just leave it at home as well. Instead of a heavy beach towel, bring a light fabric blanket like a sarong.

4. Full Size Toiletries
There is no reason to take your full make up routine with you or full size cosmetic bottles. When preparing for my travels, I buy travel sizes of toiletry basics like toothpaste or shampoo. But hotels provide these most of the time, too. When it comes to make up, I only pack my favorite beauty items and try to keep them to a minimum.

5. Things That You Can Buy
When traveling to Thailand, buying things at the destination actually helped me to save space in my suitcase. For example, I bought a summery hat instead of packing one. Think about what you could buy when arriving instead of packing it beforehand. It can end up being a great souvenir or travel memory!

6. Uncomfortable Shoes
I’m guilty of this one. I’ll admit than I have actually taken more than once uncomfortable shoes with me and I absolutely regret it. It takes space out of your suitcase and if you wear them, then you’ll end up with hurting feet. No fun!. So leave them

7. Hair Dryer
Firstly, hair dryers are bulky items that take up way too much space. Secondly, you usually don’t need them as they are mostly being provided. The only thing that I really can’t leave behind is my beloved hair straightener.

So, What are you leaving home? Help us add to this list.
